If you think that I used the Easter eggs to prepare this dish, you’re right.
They were less than ten days old, so don’t worry.
Anyway, you don’t have to wait until Easter to prepare Layered Potatoes.

Here’s the recipe:
- 1 kg potatoes
- 8-10 hard-boiled eggs
- 300-400 g Hungarian smoked sausage or chorizo
- 400 ml sour cream
- 100 g butter
- 50 g breadcrumbs
- Salt, ground black pepper and sweet paprika
Cook the potatoes in their skin in salted water. Peel the potatoes, the eggs, and cut them into thin slices.
Cut the sausages as well and fry them in a small amount of butter.
Grease a casserole with the remaining part of the butter.
Start to fill the casserole with a layer of potatoes, eggs and then sausages.
Don’t forget to sprinkle the potatoes and eggs with salt, pepper and sweet paprika.
Spread two spoons of sour cream on the top of the potatoes.
Sprinkle the last layer with breadcrumbs and cook it in a preheated oven until the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
Serve with sour cream.
